New addition to our Family!

His name is Bo (put a hook on the O). It's Vietnamese for butter - he just makes you melt! We got him from Miyoung's mama poodle and her Japanese Chin lover. Thanks Miyoung! So far, Bo has been really great - well, except for eating at the carpet. Now if only he'll eat his own food. Learning to take care of him has already been an experience! I worry about his emotional health - learning to live in a new environment, being by himself some times during the days, eating right, getting sick! And I only slept on and off last night because I kept watching him! Hopefully we'll be good mommy and daddy to him, oh, and also Uncle Baby.

March, but really meant for February

So I thought I would be diligent and blog every week...now I've come down to earth and will TRY to blog every month. Life really does get in the way of creativity! February was a busy month for me. I finally stopped being a travel nurse and signed on as staff at Overlake Hospital. It was a few weeks of orientation - all over again - with lots of modules, paperwork, testing...I thought I was back in school! It was hard for me to end my nomadic lifestyle, but once I came to terms with being a nurse at ONE place, I felt more secure, more stable. It's like coming to terms with being married! Hee Hee.... Really, though, it was all worth it in the end. Now I have to figure out PTO, EIB, clocking in and clocking out.... Not too bad a feeling in the economic upheavals these days. At the end of the month we met our good friend Kyle and Hanh down in South Beach for a weekend of drinking, then off on a Caribbean cruise. That was fun! It was our first cruise and we loved it! We will definitely go again!

44th Inauguration

Wow, what a momentous day today is! Whether republican, democrat, green party, independent, or whatever you want to call yourself, you can only call yourself today an American. It is a day not for political parties divided, but for all parties together for the common good of this country we live in. For the histories of the past, and of how far the US has come. And hope for the future that has yet to be.

Happy 2009!!

Hey family, friends, and voyeurs....

Hope this note finds you well. This year I feel the need to share the nitty gritty of my life. I really should say OUR life because I am married now. That's what's different about being married, you are not considered an individualist anymore. That's something I've been mourning since I got married - and still mourning. Not that my husband is not great and handsome and the best thing since gin and tonics, but you do sort of lose yourself. That's why it's so important to nurture that part of you that makes you - you. Hard when you have to think of someone else too when making decisions. But, isn't that the nitty gritty of life too?

I hope this year of 2009 brings much adventures, hope, and memorable moments for all of you. And this will be the sweetest year yet to come. It only gets better. See you back soon.
